Fresh vs. silk flowers?

I'm torn between the two. I love the look and smell of fresh flowers but i'm afraid they will die in the heat( summer/fall wedding so it will be hot) and I want to be able to keep them forever without them becoming dry and brittle with age( if i decide to dry them). I"m going to be using lilys and orchids
