How do i give a girl more attention without being needy? and what did she mean by this?

I was hanging out with this girl im kind of into, and i playfully joked "a girl like you cannot handle a guy like me" and she responded with "your right, because i dont think i would barely get any attention from you, thats why" how do i give her more attention without being needy? also, should, i even give her more attention, or carry on being aloof?
