My new atoo plays head games... I need help!?

atoos are characters. Just let him bite you and get on with it. Will it hurt, it might. And it could hurt pretty bad even draw blood. But that's something you must get over yourself. These guys are snuggle bunnies, they love love. But you have to get past your fears or he will never respect you. Or trust you.You need to gain his trust 1st before holding him. after that everything will fall in place. Keep in mind hes now changed homes and everything in his life has changed. atoos are smart parrots. He also knows that your afraid of him. So when you stick your hand in his cage your natural fear level has gone up (who wants to be bitten right?). So, hes gonna challenge you. And that's ok, again you must earn his trust. Even is he bites you you must keep your hand still and show no fear and stand strong. Parrots learn early that biting a human will make them back off. Because us humans showed them that if they bite us or if the parrot attempts to bite us we will retreat. Id for sure stop the hand in the cage thing. atoos love to laugh don't take it personally, hes major stressed too. Let him establish his new area. When your their put his food on the top of his cage (and water). Open his cage door and let him walk about his cage. Hes in a new place and atoos are very smart. Let him get comfortable with the new noises and people. Don't forget to offer apples ect...Remember a parrot is a parrot is a parrot. Sometimes you get bitten, sometimes its on purpose and other times an accident..Let me know if I can help further..
