What's a good SUV with 4x4 or AWD?!?

what's a good SUV with either 4x4 or AWD? i live in Michigan so it needs to be able to get through snow and be good on ice. I just turned sixteen so i don't want anything brand new and my budget is around $6,000. Low insurance rates and good gas mileage too please!
